  • Section 1 - Commitment to Full School Year: All interns participating in the SBCUSD Internship Program must commit to the full academic school year. This ensures continuity and stability for both interns and assigned sites. Interns requiring two different placements across semesters will be notified of both placements at the same time. Once schedules are finalized, no changes will be made for either semester.

Section 2 - Adherence to SBCUSD School Schedule: Interns must follow the SBCUSD school calendar, including start and end times, holidays, and professional development days.

Section 3 - Minimum Weekly Attendance: Interns are required to intern a minimum of two (2) days per week, four (4) hours per day. Schedules should be established with the assigned site supervisor at the start of the internship and maintained throughout the academic year.

Section 4 - Single Site Internship Requirement: Interns may only be placed at one site at a time during their SBCUSD internship to ensure focused engagement and meaningful contributions.

Section 5 - Completion of Hours Within Semester: All internship hours must be completed within the semester in which the intern is enrolled. Hours may not carry over to subsequent semesters under any circumstances. Interns are responsible for planning their schedules accordingly in coordination with their site supervisors.

Acknowledgment: All interns are required to sign an acknowledgment form confirming their understanding and agreement to comply with this bylaw prior to the start of their internship.
